Privacy Policy

How ReturnIt handles account, receipt, pickup, payment, and crew data. We do not sell personal information.

Effective August 24, 2026. ReturnIt, operated from Phoenix, Arizona, United States.

  1. 1. Who we are

ReturnIt, operated from Phoenix, Arizona, United States. This policy covers the ReturnIt website, the installable home-screen app, and pickup operations. Family-and-friends beta. It is not legal advice.

  2. 2. What we collect

We collect only what we need to run a receipt vault and pickups.

    • Account: name, email, password or Google/X sign-in, and a session cookie.
    • Vault: receipt photos, store, order number, dates, totals, and notes you save.
    • Pickups: address, store, item count, miles, Loop order numbers, and whether groceries are in the bag.
    • Payments: card brand, last four digits, plan, and charge history. We do not store full card numbers in this app.
    • Crew applicants: name, phone, city, vehicle, insurance confirmation, food-handler card photo and expiration. We do not collect a Social Security number in this app.
    • Device: basic logs (time, page, error) to keep the service up.
  3. 3. Why we use it

To create your account, scan receipts, remind you before a return window closes, quote and dispatch a pickup, process payment, train crew, and comply with law. We do not sell your personal information.

  4. 4. Receipt photos and AI scan

When you take or upload a receipt photo, we send that image to our scan provider (xAI) so fields can be filled in. Use the camera for receipts only — not IDs, medical records, or unrelated documents. You can type the fields yourself instead of scanning.

  5. 5. Who we share with

Processors that host or run the product: our database host, our app host (Vercel), authentication (Google/X via our sign-in broker), the scan provider for receipt images, and payment processors when you pay. Independent 1099 runners see the address, store, items, and notes needed to complete an assigned ticket. We share with law enforcement or a court when required. Retailers receive the item and receipt at their desk — they already had that relationship with you.

  6. 6. How long we keep it

Account and vault data last until you delete them. Pickup, payment, and crew records are kept as long as needed to run the job, handle disputes, taxes, and legal holds, then deleted or de-identified. Session cookies expire when the session ends or you sign out.

  7. 7. Your choices

You can access and update vault items in the app. You can delete your account in Settings, which removes receipts, photos, pickup history, payment methods, crew application data, and the login we control. You can email us to request a copy. Arizona and other U.S. state privacy laws may give you additional rights (access, deletion, correction, appeal). We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.

  8. 8. Children

ReturnIt is for people 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.

  9. 9. Cookies

We use essential cookies and similar storage to keep you signed in, remember that you saw this notice, and run the installed app. We do not run third-party advertising cookies.

  10. 10. Privacy contact

Privacy requests: corbin.craik900@gmail.com, or Settings → Privacy & data while signed in. We operate from Phoenix, Arizona.
