1099 contractors

Run pickups. Stay a contractor.

Monday and Friday same-day. Evenings after 7:30pm for dry goods. Food handler card before any grocery job. During family-and-friends beta the founder runs every stop — finishing this portal waitlists you for when routes open.

  1. Food handler card

Arizona ANSI-accredited card on file before you touch groceries. Photo + expiration. We never ask for an SSN here.

  2. 1099, not W-2

You are not an employee. You provide the car, insurance, cooler, and taxes. A 1099-NEC if we pay you $600+ in a year.

  3. The clock

Mon/Fri same-day. Other days after 7:30pm — same night if the store is open, else 9:00am. Groceries Mon/Fri only. No replacement-home jobs.

  4. Training first

Six short modules, a perishable quiz, and the contractor terms. Then you sit on the waitlist until beta is done.

What you are signing up for

This is a working policy for launch, written in plain language. Have a lawyer review it before you pay contractors. It is not legal advice.

  • You accept jobs

No shifts. Decline a ticket anytime. Food-safety rules and the same-day SLA apply to jobs you take.

  • Your car, your insurance

Personal auto policies often exclude paid commercial use. Ask your insurer before the first route. That cost is yours.

  • W-9 out of band

We do not collect Social Security numbers in ReturnIt. A W-9 is required before the first payout, sent separately.
